How long the free Darshan in Tirupati, called Sarvadarshanam would take, cannot be estimated. Because, if the temple is not crowded, then darshan takes place in 3 to 4 hours, but if there is a long line for darshan, then you may have to stand in line for at least 18 hours. For VIP Darshan, you have to register online by paying Rs 300, without this you cannot do VIP Darshan. In VIP Darshan you can have darshan of Tirupati in 2 to 3 hours.

The tradition of donating hair in Tirupati Balaji is quite old. According to Hindu belief, the reason behind giving this donation is said to be that Lord Venkateswara repays the loan taken from Kubera. It is believed that the price of hair we give, Lord Venkateswara, gives you ten times more than that. The good thing is that devotees here donate hair of their own free will.

Laddu At Tirupati Balaji

 

 

The laddus found in Tirupati in the form of naivedyam is very tasty. This laddu is specially prepared in the kitchen named “Potu” by Tirumali Tirupati Devasthanam. The weight of this laddu is 175 grams. Tirupati laddu gets GI tag, which means that only Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam can make and sell such laddu.

 

According to data, in Devasthanam here, one and a half lakh ladoos are prepared every day. The material used to make Laddu is called “Dittam”. In view of the increasing demand of laddus, changes have been made in its content, i.e., Dittam only six times in history.

 

How to Reach Tirupati Balaji Temple?

 

By air: If you want to go to Tirupati by flight, the nearest airport is at Renigunta, which is 15 km from Tirupati. You can take flights from Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai for darshan.

 

By road: If you want to go to Tirupati Balaji by bus then there are buses from Chennai, Vellore and Bangalore every two minutes. You can also avail paid taxi facility from Chennai, Visakhapatnam, Bangalore and Hyderabad.

 

By train: If you are thinking of going to Tirupati by train, then there is no railway station in Tirumala. For this, you will have to go to Tirupati railway station first. The distance of Tirumala from Tirupati station is 26 km. Tirupati railway station is quite a big station. It also has an escalator with five platforms.

By foot: Since Tirupati Balaji’s temple is situated on a hill, devotees prefer to climb the hills of Tirumala on their will. Two footpaths are built for the walking tour of the Tirupati Balaji temple. One way is through the step way. This path is 11 km long. Most of the pedestrians take this route. There is another route called Srivari Motu which starts from Chandragiri. This route is only 6 km long.
