This railway project resultant will be that the trains form Indore will be connected to Dhar and Jhabua District.The railway station is electrified and well maintained. The station is small with 3 platforms and 4 Railway tracks, yet many major trains’ halts at the station. In spite of being a small station of Gujarat, it handles a number of trains every day.

About Dahod City
Dahod is a district of Gujarat situated at the distance of 214 kilometers from Ahmadabad and 159 kilometer from Vadodara town of Gujarat. It is said that the name of the district has been coined by the name of very famous saint of Hindu saint “Maharishi Dadhichi”. It is believed that the saint had a monastery (Ashram) in the city that’s why the place came to known as “Dahod”.

Dahod is located on the banks of Dhudhimati River in Dahod district. “Dahod” means “two boundaries” and this place is very near by the boundaries of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. Historical background of this city says that Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb was born here in Dahod Fort. It is also believed that the great Indian freedom fighter Tantya Tope had lived in Dahod during his last days. Dahod has been selected under PM Narendra Modi’s flagship project under 100 smart cities mission.

Ratan Mahal Sloth Bears Sanctuary:
This sloth bear sanctuary is located at Devgarh Baria in Dahod district. This is a deciduous forest located at the border of Madhya Pradesh from Dahod. The jungle is within the Kathiawar–Gir Dry deciduous eco region which is spread in the Madhya Pradesh. The sanctuary is located on Major River of central Gujarat named Pannam. The river plays an important part in maintaining eco-logical balance in this dry jungle along with the water conservation in the sanctuary. The red listed animal “Sloth Bear” is found here and to protect their species and their natural habitat, the Ratan Mahal sloth bear is playing a vital role. One can have a classic time here at Ratan Mahal Sloth Bear sanctuary and spend their time in the lap of nature hearing the beautiful chirping of birds and adventurous walk in the sanctuary.

Besides this sanctuary there are also some beautiful scenic places in Baria itself for tourists. Such as Chauguniya valley is very famous for sunset point. Other than this you can spot species of birds flying above the Pannam River and getting back to their home back to the jungle.
