Delhi Shahdara railway line is an important railway station of Delhi, serving the Shahdara locality of Delhi town. The station is a major railway stoppage for the Ring railways system. Delhi Ring railway is an important part of Delhi suburban railway network system. As the name suggests itself Delhi ring railway is a circular rail network spread in the Delhi and NCT (National capital territory) area of Delhi. The rail network functions alongside the ring road of Delhi. There are several trains run on this railway tracks clockwise and Anti-clockwise. Shahdara is one of the oldest locality or suburban of Purani Delhi. The suburban of Shahdara is believed to be established after the Chandani Chowk of Delhi. The suburb is located on the banks of Yamuna River and it is counted as the most populous suburban of Delhi after Chandani Chowk. This locality is said to be established by a Mughal king and named as “Shahdara” means Door of the king.
